Firefighters from Pembroke Dock Fire Station recently rescued Sheldon the tortoise, after a heating lamp in his enclosure caused a fire.
On Monday, June 30th, Firefighters from Pembroke Dock Fire Station attended a property at St Ann’s Crescent in Pembroke. The crew responded to a fire confined to a heating lamp in the tortoise’s enclosure, Firefighters quickly rescued Sheldon from his enclosure and extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus sets, one hose reel jet and one positive pressure ventilation fan.
Sheldon’s owner was very appreciative to the crew for their quick work in saving Sheldon and extinguishing the fire. Following the incident, Firefighters conducted a Home Fire Safety Check at the property.
